CHIROPRACTIC

WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE?

According to the Canadian Chiropractic Association, Chiropractic care is a “hands-on, non-invasive, and drug-free practice that safely and effectively helps relieve pain and improve the body’s overall function; uses various treatments depending on your needs, from manual ‘hands-on’ adjustment techniques to soft tissue therapy”.

WHAT DOES A CHIROPRACTOR DO?

Chiropractors can help ease your pain, enabling you to live the active, pain-free life you want.

As spine, muscle and nervous system experts, chiropractors can provide valuable information on how to prevent injuries and treat back and neck pain, as well as other musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. If aches and pain are affecting your ability to engage in your daily activities and actively participate in life, consider visiting a chiropractor today. Even without symptoms and pain, preventative care may be right for you

WHAT TYPES OF TREATMENTS WILL BE USED?

Chiropractic treatment can involve a variety of specialized techniques including:

  • Manipulative therapy — specific joint manipulation or “adjustments”

  • Soft tissue mobilization techniques — muscle stretching, manual release technique, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization

  • Customized stretching and strengthening treatment plans

DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO SEE A CHIROPRACTOR?

No. A patient does not need a referral. Chiropractors are legislated as primary contact healthcare professionals in every province in Canada. This means that patients can consult them directly. Book Online Today!

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO MY INITIAL APPOINTMENT?

During your initial appointment we will discuss your medical history as it relates to your current condition. Please bring details of any health problems, medications, recent imaging (X-ray, CT, Ultrasound, MRI), and previous injuries.

As well, a thorough assessment will be conducted on the area where you are experiencing discomfort. Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that will allow the area to be evaluated.
